Two suspects in a Hilo murder case were released today pending further investigation.

Police said Elsworth Hulihee, 63, of Hilo and Rhonda Faris, 52, of Pahoa were released from custody shortly after 5 p.m.

They had been arrested Wednesday after police responding to reports of a disturbance found 59-year-old Robert A. Evanson dead in Hulihee’s Ululani Street apartment.

Police said an autopsy was conducted on Evanson Friday afternoon but the results were inconclusive, and pending further tests.
