Flood Advisory Issued for Hamakua Coast

The National Weather Service late this afternoon issued a flood advisory for the Hamakua coast.
The notice issued at 5:24 p.m. said radar was showing moderate to heavy rain from Paauilo to Honoka`a. It said the rains were also occurring on the northwest slopes of Mauna Kea towards Waimea.
The weather service said the rainfall was expected to remain over mostly rural areas.
The advisory was to be in effect until at least 8:15 p.m.
