Human Remains Found in South Kohala

Police have initiated a coroner’s inquest following the finding of human remains Monday in South Kohala.

Detectives from the West Hawaii Criminal Investigations Sections located the remains at about 5:30 p.m. on vacant land mauka of Puako Beach Drive and makai of Queen Kaahumanu Highway.

An autopsy has been ordered to determine the identity of the deceased and the cause of death.
