Police Still Seeking Information on Halloween Eve Incident
Police are renewing their request for information on an attempted robbery that occurred last Halloween Eve.
It involved a report from a 49-year-old Hilo man who said he was walking in the parking lot of the Waiakea Villas at about 8 p.m. when he encountered a man brandishing a weapon and demanding money.
The Hilo man refused his demand and the suspect fled the area. The victim was not injured.
The suspect was described as a local male in his late 20s, about 5-foot-10 and 200 pounds, with a light mustache. He was wearing a black T-shirt, dark shorts and a cap with “BJ Penn” embroidered on it.
Police have released a composite drawing of the suspect. Anyone with information on his identity is asked to contact Det. Dean Uyetake at 961-2379 or duyetake@co.hawaii.hi.us.
