County Offering Low-Interest Home Repair Loans
The county’s Office of Housing and Community Development is currently accepting applications for low-interest loans for various types of home repairs.
The Residential Emergency Repair Program is aimed a homeowners with low to moderate incomes.
RERP loans can be used for roof repairs, electrical and plumbing work, sewer improvements, termite treatment, repair of damage caused by termites or wood rot and installation of solar water heating systems, the OHCD said in a press release.
Loans range from $2,500 to $25,000 at 3% interest for qualifying homeowners.
Loan payments are deferred for 15 years and applicants 62 years of age or older, or those with special needs, may have 30% of the balance forgiven as a grant.
