A new Safeway gasoline station will be opened to the public at noon on Friday, a company spokesperson confirmed today.

The station is located in the parking lot fronting the store at 381 Makaala St., which opened in March 2011. Daily hours will be 5 a.m. to 9.

Safeway card holders can save up to $1 per gallon of gas using points accumulated by using the cards, which are accepted at Safeway food stores. Customers can also accumulate points using their Safeway card at the gas pump. Credit cards and Safeway gift cards will also be accepted for gas.
