Body Found in Burned Eden Roc Home

Firefighters battling a house fire in a Puna subdivision Tuesday night found a body in its ruins.
The home in Eden Roc was fully in flames when the crew from the Keaau Fire Station arrived at 7:25 p.m.
It took the crew from the Keaau Fire Station a half hour to extinguish the blaze.
Firefighters checking the structure afterwards found a person’s remains inside.
The 600-square-foot home on Palainui Avenue was a complete loss. A fire department spokesman estimated the loss at $33,000.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
