A second man has been charged with a variety of crimes in connection with burglaries that occurred earlier this month in the Waiakea area of Hilo.

Keoni Mata, 30, of Hilo was charged Tuesday with 19 offenses including multiple counts of burglary, theft, fraudulent use of a credit card, identify theft and forgery.

Mata, who was initially arrested Monday on an outstanding warrant for contempt of court, was allegedly involved in burglaries that occurred on Dec. 12 and Dec. 5.

Kyson Dameron, 18, last week was also arrested and charged with multiple crimes in connection with those break-ins.

Mata’s bail was set at $185,000.
