Hilo High’s Cierra Kelii was named the Most Valuable Player of the 2013 Hilo High School Girls Basketball Tournament, which wrapped up Saturday at Keaukaha’s Kawananakoa Gymnasium.

Kelii scored 10 points Saturday in the Vikings 58-48 victory over `Iolani in a rematch of last season’s third place game at the Hawaiian Airlines / Hawai`i High School Athletic Association Division I State Championships.

With the victory, Hilo improved to 6-0 on the season prior to its upcoming appearance at the `Iolani Classic. Four of the Vikings’ victories have come against teams that participated in last year’s state tournament. Hilo defeated Maui, Mililani, and Kamehameha-Hawai`i two weeks ago at the Waiakea High Girls Basketball Tournament.
