A 21-year-old Hilo man is being held in lieu of $80,000 bail after being charged with burglary and theft.

Kalei Kaina Kaaumoana in October allegedly broke into two homes and also stole a Kamaka ukulele from a Hilo school.

Police said one of the break-ins involved the Hilo home of a 91-year-old woman.

Kaaumoana was charged today with two counts of first-degree burglary and three counts of second-degree theft.

He was being held in the Hilo cellblock pending a Monday court appearance.
