A 22-year-old man Pahoa man wanted by police for violating probation has been charged with additional offenses.

After his arrest on Wednesday, Airiel Rhodes Jost was charged with the probation violations.

Police have since charged Jost with several other crimes including burglary, first-degree terroristic threatening, two counts of car theft and driving without a license.

His bail was set at $57,000.

Police said the new charges filed Friday stem from other incidents linked to Jost. They included:

  • On Nov. 2, a 49-year-old man returned to his Uliana Drive home in Pahoa and found an unknown man in his home. The stranger exited the house and threatened the victim with a knife before leaving.
  • On Nov. 8, a Mercedes-Benz automobile was stolen from the garage of a home on Kapoho Beach Road.
  • On Nov. 14, a Mazda Miata was taken from a home on Luana Street in the Leilani Estates subdivision. The vehicle was later crashed.

Police said Jost is one of the individuals being featured this month of the cable access program “Hawai`i Island’s Most Wanted,” which was recorded prior to his arrest.
