Dress up in your favorite shades of black and/or white Friday night, Nov. 1, for the Hilo Downtown Improvement Association’s 13th annual romp through the streets of downtown Hilo.

From Bayfront to Kapiolani Street, Ponahawai Street to Wailuku Drive, there will be live music, dancing and merriment in the air. Even a treasure hunt, a contest for the “Best-Dressed,” and plenty of hospitality from the local merchants of downtown Hilo who put the event on.

“It’s absolutely been getting bigger every year,” said Alice Moon, executive director of the Hilo DIA. “You can feel the vibrancy in downtown Hilo. It’s the new ‘in’ place.”

The fun starts at 5 p.m. at Black & White Night’s “Grand Central Station” on Kalakaua Street between Keawe and Kinoole streets, which will be blocked off for pedestrians from 3-10 p.m.
