The Nā Mele Makana Slack Key Concert Series, hosted by Grammy-winner George Kahumoku, features special guest Martin Pahinui along with Brad Bordessa and Anuhea Lim for an evening of traditional and contemporary Hawaiian music at the Honoka‘a People’s Theatre, 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 15.

Known as Hawai‘i’s Renaissance Man, Kahumoku is a farmer, author, visual artist and bronze sculptor, as well as an award-winning performer with a down-home style. Add in the slack key styling and voice of Martin Pahinui and audiences will hear some of the best music Hawai‘i has to offer, said a release for the event.

All proceeds benefit the Hale Ho‘ola Hamakua Critical Access Hospital, formerly known as Honoka‘a Hospital, which has served the healthcare needs of the community from Kamuela to Laupahoehoe since 1951. The Hale Ho‘ola Hamakua Foundation is a nonprofit organization supporting the Hale Ho‘ola Hamakua Critical Access Hospital.

Tickets are $40 in advance, $45 at the door, and are available at www.slackkeyshow.com, Kamuela Liquor, or the Wishard Gallery in the Parker Ranch Center, Kamuela. For information go to www.halehoolafoundation.org.
