Verizon Wireless Offers Free Phone Workshops

Verizon Wireless will provide several opportunities this month for smart phone users who want to learn how to master their mobile devices.

Free workshops for users of Apple, Android, Windows Phone or Blackberry devices can learn the basics of setting up and customizing their phones, putting finishing touches on documents on-the-go, saving photos and notes to the cloud and more, said a Verizon Wireless media release.

Workshops will be held in Kona and Hilo at Go Wireless Kona Commons, 75-5595 Palani Road, Kailua-Kona, and at the Hilo Verizon Wireles Store, 315 Makaala St., Hilo. Participants must register for each workshop they plan to attend at https://vzwworkshops.verizonwireless.com/vzwworkshops/.

Classes are limited to 20 participants, said a Verizon Wireless spokesperson. The following classes are available:

“Android: Doing More With You Mobile Device” will be held Saturday, Oct. 6, 8:30-9:30 a.m. in Kona.

“Android: Getting Started Workshop” will be held in Hilo on Oct. 10 and 24, 5:30-6:30 p.m., and in Kona on Oct. 5 and 19, 8-9 a.m., and Oct. 20, 8:30-9 a.m.

“Apple iPhone: Getting Started” will be held in Hilo on Oct. 16 and 30, 5:30-6:30 p.m., and in Kona, Oct. 12 and 26, 8-9 a.m., and Oct. 13 and 27, 8:30-9:30 a.m.

“Windows Phone: Getting Started” will be held in Hilo on Oct. 11, 5:30-6:30 p.m.

“Blackberry 10: Getting Started” will be held in Hilo on Oct. 25, 5:30-6:30 p.m.
