A 21-year-old Kona man has been charged in connection with the theft over the weekend of a vehicle from Kona International Airport.

The 2004 Toyota Tacoma pickup was taken from an airport parking lot.

The vehicle was found Monday down an embankment off Koloko Drive.

An investigation led to the arrest of Colvin Gaspar of Kailua-Kona, who was charged Tuesday with car theft and second-degree theft.

His bail was set at $20,000 pending an initial court appearance in Kona District Court.
