Police today said they have identified the victim of an assault in June that left a large amount of blood at the storefront of a vacant business in Pahoa.

Officers responding to the discovery of blood on the morning of June 26 were unable to locate the victim.

Last month, detectives following up on information obtained earlier where able to verify the identity of the victim, a 60-year-old Pahoa man. The victim told police that during an altercation with an unidentified man he had sustained a superficial head wound, but did not seek treatment.

Police have renewed their request that anyone with information on the incident contact Det. Norbert Serrao at 961-2383 or [email protected].

Tipsters who wish to remain anonymous can call Crime Stoppers at 961-8300 in Hilo or 329-8181 in Kona.
