Job Fair for Veterans Aug. 2 in Hilo

A job and resource fair for military veterans and active military personnel will be held Friday, Aug, 2, from 9 a.m. to noon at Hawaii Community College, Manono Campus cafeteria, Bldg. 382.

As part of the job fair, veterans resource organizations will be available to provide information on veterans support services.

According to Estee Nathanson, program coordinator with the HCC Office of Continuing Education and Training, there will be more than 20 employers at the job fair, including Hawaiian Airlines, Bank of Hawaii, Hilo Medical Center and Hawaii Electric Light Co.

Others participating in the job fair include HPM Building Supply, County of Hawaii Human Resources, Hawaii County Police Department and Hawaii Volcanoes National Park.

In conjunction with the job fair, free workshops on resume writing and career exploration will be held throughout the day at the same location.

Workshops on resume writing will be offered at 9 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Attendees will create their own resume to take with them.

Career exploration workshops will be offered at 1 p.m. and 2:30 p.m.
