The county is advising the public to use precaution next week when driving to Hilo’s landfill.

Beginning on Monday, crews will be installing 11 speed humps on Ho`olualima Road, formerly known as Rubbish Road, beginning where the road enters the landfill area.

The work is scheduled from 7:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each day, with the project tentatively scheduled for completion by Friday.

County officials said the work may cause temporary delays for motorists entering the landfill, transfer station, scale house, sort station, recycling area and the HI-5 redemption site.

For information contact civil engineer Ryan Dixon at 961-8296.
