Family of Five Displaced by Fire in Fern Forest

A family of five was being assisted by the Red Cross after their Glenwood home was destroyed by fire late Saturday afternoon.
Firefighters responding to a 4:25 p.m. alarm found the home at 11-2259 Kokokahi St. in the Fern Forest subdivision fully involved in flames, with the front of the home collapsed.
A van parked under a canopy adjacent to the house was also destroyed by fire.
Damage to the 400-square-foot was estimated at $10,000.
The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
