A Kurtistown man has been charged with five offenses in connection with an armed robbery and burglary that occurred May 28 in the Hawaiian Paradise Park subdivision.

Police allege that John Krause, 44, was one of several suspects who approached the HPP home brandishing handguns.

After entering the house, the suspects held four occupants at gunpoint and demanded valuables, police said.

They fled with unidentified items in a vehicle.

A 36-year-old man was injured when he was allegedly hit on the arm with the butt of a firearm.

Krause was arrested Wednesday and charged today with robbery, burglary, assault and two counts of terroristic threatening.

He was being held in lieu of $21,000 bail.
