Repaving to Close Saddle Road Lane Wednesday

A portion of the Hilo-bound lane of Saddle Road will be closed Wednesday at the 9.4-mile marker for a resurfacing project.

A spokeswoman for the county Department of Public Works said off-duty police officers will direct traffic during the roadwork scheduled to begin at 7 a.m.

The road is scheduled to be reopened at 3:30 p.m., but may be closed later to allow for completion of the project.

The area to be repaved is located approximately 1.4 miles above Kaumana City.
