Waiakea Uka Home Destroyed by Fire Saturday Night

Fire inspectors are trying to determine the cause of a fire that destroyed a home in the Waiakea Uka area of Hilo Saturday night.

Firefighters responding to an 8:45 p.m. alarm found the home at 545 Ainalako Road engulfed in flames, with nearby trees and brush also on fire.

Damage was estimated at $200,000.

No one was injured.
