An online report from the Honolulu Star-Advertiser Wednesday indicates that the University of Hawai`i at Hilo is prepared to name their next head basketball coach.

The report states that Central Washington University assistant coach GE Coleman is slated to become the next head coach, replacing Jeff Law. Law resigned in March to accept a similar position at Western New Mexico University.

The report states that Coleman has notified officials at CWU that he was given an offer by UH-Hilo and planned to accept that offer.

The 31-year-old Coleman has served two different stints as an assistant with the Wildcats, who finished 15-13 last season with a roster primarily filled with community college transfers. Eight of the 12 players who played for CWU last season were transfers from Tacoma Community College.
