Puna’s representatives on the County Council are providing residents of the district with a pair of opportunities next week to discuss the Big Island’s budget.

The only problem is, while they will be held at different locations, both are scheduled on the same day and at the same time.

The meetings – both billed as “talk story” sessions – will be held Tuesday, May 28, at 5:30 p.m.

The meeting being held by District 5 Councilman Zendo Kern, who represents the western or mauka portion of Puna, will be at the Keaau Community Center.

Mayor Billy Kenoi and cabinet members will be on hand to discuss the budget which will be the subject of a council meeting next Thursday.

Greggor Ilagan, who represents District 4 which consists of the eastern or makai part of Puna, will hold his meeting at the Pahoa Community Center.

Both apparently announced the sessions today.

Kenoi, Kern and council chairman J Yoshimoto took part in a budget talk-story session in Hilo on Wednesday.
