Man, 66, Injured When Trench Wall Collapses

A 66-year-old man was injured this morning in Kailua-Kona when an 8-foot-deep trench in which he was working collapsed.
Capt. Lyle Loyola of the Makalei fire station said paramedics responding to a 10:09 a.m. call found the employee of the E.M. Rivera & Sons contracting company with facial injuries and breathing difficulties.
The utility trench was being dug along Kaiminani Drive.
