Police have charged a 23-year-old Kona man with burglary and other offenses in connection with a Kailua-Kona break-in a week ago.

Tonino Benson was arrested Wednesday and charged with failure to appear in court and failure to return a rental vehicle, offenses unrelated to the burglary.

After appearing in court on those alleged crimes, he was charged today with burglary, theft, attempted theft and forgery.

Police said the burglary occurred on April 5 on Queen Kalama Avenue.

He remained at the Kona cellblock today in lieu of $12,300 bail.
