Rainbow Friends Animal Sanctuary will hold a spay/neuter clinic for cats on Sunday, April 14, at the Leilani Estates Community Center in lower Puna. The clinic is scheduled from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The cost is $30. Financial assistance is available through a grant to Rainbow Friends from the Petco Foundation.

Owners need to pre-register their cats for the event.

Cats should not be given food or water after 8 p.m. the night before the surgery and must be brought to the clinic in carriers or humane traps.

Next month, the group will hold a spay/neuter clinic for dogs at the Leilani Estates Community Center.

There is a flat fee of $50 for the dog spay/neuter clinic with financial assistance available as well.
