The PacWest Conference announced Monday that University of Hawai`i at Hilo outfielder Kristina Victa earned the Hawai`i Tourism Authority Pacific West Conference Player of the Week award in softball during games played in February.

The award recognized Victa for her performance during UH Hilo’s eight game stretch between February 11-17. The Vulcans played all eight of those games in California in a road trip against Cal State Monterey Bay, Cal State East Bay, and Academy of Art. UHH went 4-4 in those eight games.

Victa batted .419 during that stretch and started all eight games for head coach Jaime Wallin. She scored six runs, drove in seven, walked twice, and stole 10 bases during that stretch.

The junior transferred from Cypress College in California, where she earned second team all-league honors. She hit .429 in her sophomore season and tied for the team lead with 31 runs batted in. She also hit four home runs and stole nine bases.
