Police are investigating the robbery early this morning of a couple camping at Kolekole Beach Park by a man wielding a knife.

Officers responding to a 4:54 a.m. report today were told that the man and woman, both 29, were awakened by a male suspect who entered their tent and threatened them with a knife. The suspect then took some of their possessions and demanded the keys to their rental vehicle.

The suspect then left the area in the rental vehicle which was described as a white 2012 Ford Mustang, license plate HMX-973. The vehicle was later found abandoned in the upper Wainaku area.

The victims, who were not injured, walked to a nearby residence to call police.
