Suspect in Fatal Stabbing Released Without Charges

Police tonight released the girlfriend of a Hilo man who died of a stabbing Monday morning.

Police said Cherie Sueko Moskwa, 37, of Hilo was released from custody without being charged.

Detectives are continuing the investigation into the case that has been classified a homicide.

Moskwa was arrested Monday night in connection with the stabbing death of 38-year-old Lloyd Rubio.

Rubio was found in his Kaumana Drive home with a stab wound early Monday following a call to 911. He later died at Hilo Medical Center.

Police have said that Moskwa was in the house with Rubio’s children at the time of the stabbing and was the person who called 911.
