Pahoa Roundabout Meeting Rescheduled For Jan. 16

The public informational meeting for a roundabout proposed for a busy Pahoa intersection has a new date and venue.

The meeting is now scheduled for 6 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16, at Pahoa’s community center, also known as the Pahoa Neighborhood Facility.

State transportation officials had previously postponed the meeting originally scheduled for December in Keaau.

The roundabout is being proposed for the intersection of Highway 130 and Pahoa Village Road, a site frequent of accidents.

The Department of Transportation hopes to improve safety and traffic flow by converting the existing T-intersection to a single-lane roundabout.
