Honomu Resident Injured In House Fire

Fire Department investigators are looking into the cause of a blaze that destroyed a Honomu home early today and injured a resident.
Firefighters responding to a 6:14 a.m. call found the home on Puako Street engulfed in flames with the roof collapsed.
The department said an occupant of the home had been taken out of the home by a neighbor prior to firefighters’ arrival. The resident was transported to Hilo Medical Center in stable condition.
Damage was estimated at $60,000.
