Free Classes on Using Your Smartphone at Verizon

According to TechCrunch, technology analyst Gartner is predicting that 821 million smart devices will be sold this year with Apple and Android the two most popular brands.

Yet not everyone who buys a smart phone knows how to use it to its fullest potential.

Verizon Wireless is offering multiple free workshops over the next several weeks at their Kona and Hilo store locations to help people make the most of their smart devices.

Workshop attendees will learn how to use special features on their phone, customize the device, and take advantage of synching capabilities.

Classes are available for both the Apple iPhone 4S and Android.

The Apple iPhone 4S free workshop will teach phone owners how to navigate and customize their device, use the camera and camcorder functions, and utilize the notification center and iCloud. You’ll also learn how to use Siri to its fullest potential.

The next class for the iPhone 4S in Kona will be held Saturday, November 25, 9 a.m. – 10 a.m.

The Kona Verizon store is located at 75-5595 Palani Road, Kailua Kona.

Android phone users can learn hardware functions of their phone, how to set up email, add social network accounts, and customize the device.

Upcoming free classes on the Android phone in Kona will be held this afternoon from 3 p.m. – 4 p.m., November 18, 9 a.m.-10 a.m., November 28, 3 p.m. – 4 p.m., December 2, 9 a.m. – 10 a.m., and December 12, 3 p.m. – 4 p.m.

In east Hawaii, a class on how to use the Apple iPhone 4S will be held at the Hilo Verizon Wireless store on November 28, from 5:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.

The Hilo Verizon Wireless Store is located at 315 East Maka’ala Street, next to Office Max.

An Android Workshop will be held in Hilo at he Verizon store tomorrow, November 15 as well as November 29, from 5:30 p.m.-6:30 p.m.

Android phone classes will be also held in Hilo December 13, 20, and 27, from 5:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.
