Big Island police said today that a body found earlier this month at a campsite at a remote Ka`u beach has been identified as 48-year-old Terry Lee Day.
Police said Day was identified this afternoon through dental records.
Day was homeless but was known to frequent the Ocean View area, police said.
His body was found by a boater who had come ashore at Waikini Beach on Nov. 3.
The cause of death has not been determined. Kona police Lt. Gerald Wike said that an autopsy and investigation of the scene indicated that foul play was not involved in Day’s death.

He said unless additional evidence is discovered, the death will likely be attributed to natural causes.
