The Big Island Interscholastic Federation Division I Championship Game between Hilo High School and Kealakehe High School will resume on Saturday night at 7:00 p.m. at Waverider Stadium on the Kealakehe campus.

According to Lyle Crozier, the league’s executive secretary, league rules allow for a game to be held at its current point. Rule SP7 of the BIIF’s sports procedures says that in football, the game can be suspended and replayed from the point of the suspension unless both coaches agree to let the score stand.

A tsunami warning for the state of Hawai`i forced officials to suspend the game with :58.8 remaining in the first half. Kealakehe led Hilo 20-14 and the Vikings were about to kickoff after a touchdown run from Drew Kell.

Crozier says that admission will not be charged for the game. ESPN Radio and ESPNHawaii.com will have the broadcast.
