Big Ind police say they were able to stop a burglary in progress Tuesday following a tip from the public.

Officers acting on the information arrived at a home on 5th Avenue in Hawaiian Paradise Park and allegedly found 31-year-old Blaine L.K. Faris III and 37-year-old Stephanie Michelle Christie in the house stealing items.

On Wednesday night detectives charged both Faris, a resident of Honomu, and Christie of Keaau with first-degree burglary. Bail for each was set at $5,000.
