Halloween Pet Walks in Hilo and Kona this Weekend

Hawaii Island Humane Society’s annual Halloween Pet Walks will be held this Saturday in Hilo at Liliuokalani Park and this Sunday in Kona at Hale Halawai.

The popular annual event, which is a fundraiser for HIHS, attracts hundred of costumed dogs and their owners.

Registration begins at 8 a.m. on both days with the walks beginning at 9 a.m. The festivities run until 11 a.m.

The pet walks will feature live entertainment, as well as vendors featuring pet products and food.

Pledge forms for the walks are available at Hawaii Island Humane Society shelters and multiple veterinarian offices island wide. It is not necessary to raise money to participate in the walk, although donations are appreciated.

Prizes will be awarded for the individuals and teams raising the most money, as well as the best costume and best pet trick.
