Police Holding Second Meeting in Kona Thursday

Big Island police will hold a second meeting in Kona to discuss the recent rash of burglaries and car thefts.

The meeting with members of the community is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Konawaena High School cafeteria in Kealakekua.

The meeting is a follow-up to one held on Sept. 11.

Police last month made 10 arrests in West Hawaii in connection with a drug-related burglary ring, According to figures provided recently to the Hawaii County Police Commission, reports of burglaries in Kona have dropped dramatically over the past six weeks.
