State Rep. Clift Tsuji was released Monday night from Hilo Medical Center where he was undergoing treatment for pneumonia.

“The excellent medical team, hospital staff, and the encouraging support from the community were greatly appreciated and contributed to my recovery,” Tsuji said.  “I wanted to provide this update to the residents of the district, and to let them know that my staff and I will continue to be fully available to serve them.”

Tsuji has been a member of the state House since 2005. He is currently representing District 3 which includes South Hilo, Panaewa, Keaau and Kurtistown.

Because of this year’s reapportionment, his home is located in the new District 2 seat which includes Hilo Waiakea and Keaukaha. He is running unopposed.
