Police Seek California Tourist Missing Here Since 2007

Police are asking for the public’s help locating a California man who went missing in 2007 while visiting the Big Island.

The missing man, Sean Ryan, was 23 at the time of his disappearance.

He was last seen at a friend’s home in the Fern Acres subdivision on Aug. 12, 2007. At the time he was believed to be shirtless and wearing either white shorts or blue flannel pajama bottoms.

Police said Ryan suffers from a medical condition that requires medication.

He is described as 5-foot-10 and 160 pounds, with short blond hair. When last seen he was not wearing the eyeglasses depicted in the photograph.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to contact Lt. Gregory Esteban of the Criminal Investigation Section at 808-961-2252 or by email at gesteban@hawaiicounty.gov.
