A 22-year-old Kailua-Kona man has been charged with the theft of a vehicle.
Police said the 1995 Honda Accord was taken from the Kailua-Kona subdivision of Seaview in the middle of May. The following day, a patrol officer pulled the vehicle over during a traffic stop in Waimea, although the driver fled on foot.
After several weeks of investigation, police identified the driver as Jesse Travis Ralston. He was arrested on Tuesday in Kailua-Kona and held in the Kona cellblock.
Ralston was charged Thursday with car theft and released after posting $2,000 in bail.
