Hilo Man Charged in Kino`ole Street Burglary

A 22-year-old Hilo man was charged Wednesday with burglary in connection with a break-in last month at a Kino`ole Street home.
On June 6, a 64-year-old woman told police that when she entered her home at around 8 a.m. she found a man inside. The suspect fled the house with more than $3,000 worth of property.
Kawika Kaiulani Larinaga-Napihaa was charged with first-degree burglary and second-degree theft in connection with the incident. His bail was set at $35,000.
Police are reviewing data from other recent burglaries in Hilo and Puna for similarities. Anyone with additional information is asked to call Det. John Rodrigues Jr. at 961-2384 or Det. Royce Serrao at 961-8810.
