Violin virtuoso Chee-Yun will perform Friday with Ignace “Iggy” Jang for a gala event at the Four Seasons Resort at Hualalai.

Korean-born violinist Chee-Yun is an immense talent. What draws the crowds is more than her technical perfection and intriguing interpretation. Chee-Yun captures audiences with audible passion and emotionality as her bow is put to strings.

Chee-Yun performed publicly at age 8, was invited to the US at 13 to perform with the New York Philharmonic, and at 15 was a soloist with the New York String Orchestra. She is critically acclaimed worldwide, has released nine albums, and packs a juggernaut of a partner. She plays the Stradivarius, “Ex-Strauss.”

Also playing at this gala event will be students and other faculty including Ignace “Iggy” Jang who is concertmaster of the Hawai’i Symphony Orchestra. Jang is also string program Ddrector for the HPAF. He has toured in the United States and in Turkey, China and Brazil.
