UPDATE: Maile Street in Pahala Reopened

A road in Pahala closed by a downed utility pole Wednesday afternoon was reopened shortly before 9 p.m., police said.

Maile Street had been closed to all traffic shortly after 3 p.m. The closure had been expected to last two hours.

Motorists were encourage to use Kamani Street while repairs to the pole were underway.
