County water service will be shut off Thursday along the lower portion of Kaiwiki Road and surrounding areas to allow for a new waterline connection.

The shut-off is scheduled between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m.

The affected portion of the road will be from Anuenue Street in the vicinity of Wainaku Camp 2 on down towards Wainaku Drive. Affected areas will include Pa‘akaua and Laukaha streets, and the side roads in between.

Also to be affected is both sides of Kulana Kea Drive immediately to the north of Kaiwiki, including the adjoining Kauhiula Road and Kaohi Lehua Place.

According to a Department of Water Supply spokesperson, the interruption of service is needed to make a new connection for the Plant-Mason and Kulana Kea subdivisions. For information call 961-8790.
