A Kailua-Kona man died Thursday from injuries sustained in an accident earlier in the week, police said today.
On June 11, William Lawrence, 58, was working on a 1993 Toyota Tacoma pickup when the vehicle began to roll downhill.
When police responded to an 8:38 p.m. call, they found that while attempting to stop the vehicle, Lawrence was pulled underneath the truck and was injured.
Lawrence was taken to Queen’s Medical Center on Oahu where he was pronounced dead Thursday at 6:08 p.m.
An autopsy will be performed. Because the death occurred on a private road it is not counted toward the county’s official traffic fatality count.
