BIIF Softball Tournament Update – April 29

Kamehameha-Hawaii earned the 2012 Big Island Interscholastic Federation Division II softball championship after defeating Kohala 5-1 on the Warriors campus. Both schools will compete in the 2012 Datahouse / Hawaii High School Athletic Association Division II Softball Championships, which begin Wednesday at Central Oahu Regional Park.

Joining them will be the Dragons of Honoka’a High School. They defeated Konawaena 6-3 in the Division II third place game on Saturday at Honoka’a Park.

Meanwhile, Moanalua TKO’d Kea’au 13-0 in the HHSAA Division I play-in game, held on the campus of Kea’au High School. Na Menehune will join five other schools from the Oahu Interscholastic Association in competing in the Datahouse / HHSAA Division I Softball Championships, which begin Wednesday at Rainbow Wahine Softball Stadium. Hilo High will be the only BIIF representative in the Division I tourney, and will play on Thursday.

The entire state tournament bracket will be released late Sunday morning.
