The field of ten has been narrowed down to four in the BIIF Division II boys volleyball tournament, and one squad has put the rest of the field on notice.

The Pahoa Daggers upset West Hawaii two-seed Honoka’a in four sets last night to advance to the tournament semifinals. Pahoa easily won the first set, 25-12, before dropping the second, 19-25. Pahoa took control of the match the rest of the way, winning the final two sets 27-25 and 25-20.

The Daggers, now 8-8 on the season, will face Hawaii Prep on Friday in one of two semifinal matches. Ka Makani won in straight sets over Konawaena on Wednesday. The other semifinal pits Ka’u against Kohala, as both schools won in straight sets.

The Division I tournament starts on Friday at Onizuka Gym at Konawaena High School. Unbeaten Kamehameha-Hawaii faces Kealakehe, while Waiakea and Hilo square off in the nightcap.
