Ahalanui Beach Park Work Scheduled Thursday

Ahalanui Beach Park in lower Puna will be closed until at least 1 p.m. Thursday to allow for accessibility improvements.

The work involves the construction of a concrete walkway at the popular park also known as “hot pond.”

The closing is necessary to protect public safety during the construction work which involves the use of heavy equipment, county Parks Director Bob Fitzgerald said.
