Police Investigate Arson at ‘Hot Pond’ Park

Puna police are investigating an arson case involving three portable toilets at Ahalanui Park, the county facility on Highway 137 also known as “Hot Pond.”
Someone set fire to the toilets between 1:15 and 1:27 a.m. today, police said, rendering them unusable.
County firefighters extinguished the flames. Damage was estimated at $3,100.
Police ask that anyone with information on the case call the Police Department’s non-emergency line at 935-3311.
